Dr. Csaba Szomolai - Chief Risk Officer
In 1996, he graduated with a BSc degree in finance from the College of Finance and Accounting. He obtained his law degree in 2005 at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, and passed his professional bar in 2013.
He started his career in 1996 at the Tolna County Police Headquarters and at the Budapest Police Headquarters, where he worked in the area of economic protection investigations until 2005.
In 2006, he joined the State Supervision of Financial Institutions, where he held the positions of Market Supervisor and Prudential Supervisor until 2010.
In 2010, he served as Head of the Capital Market Enforcement Team of the institution, and from December 2010 he held the position of Head of Department. After that, he was first appointed Deputy Head of the Money and Capital Markets department, and then as Head of the same department.
In 2013, he became Deputy Executive Director of the Licensing and Enforcement Executive Board.
From October 2013 until the summer of 2021, he worked at the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (acting as the central bank of Hungary), where he first acted Director, and then from 2017 to 2021, he served as Executive Director responsible for licensing and enforcement. In addition, he was a member of the Financial Stability Board of the central bank.
