MBH Bank is launched
The biggest merger in Hungarian banking history has taken place
On 30 April 2023, the merger of MKB Bank and Takarékbank was completed. As of 1 May, the new credit institution continues its activities under the name MBH Bank. The technical and IT transition related to the merger was successfully completed. Thanks to thorough preparations and the implementation of the migration on schedule, the bank was able to bring the systems and channels back online on schedule. As a result, MBH Bank's services have been operating smoothly since 1 May and on 2 May, the branches opened as usual. The merger process, which lasted for more than two years in the framework of Magyar Bankholding, has now been completed, creating Hungary's second largest, wholly Hungarian-owned credit institution.
„We are at the end of a successful triple merger on a scale and speed unprecedented in Europe, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my 10,000 colleagues and hundreds of our partners for their support, without whom we could not have completed this merger so smoothly. At the same time, the end of the merger is a new beginning: we are building a dynamic, digital, market-leading bank on solid foundations, which will effectively support the domestic economy, offer more and more attractive products to customers and compete more strongly in the domestic banking market."
The merged credit institution started operating under a new, single brand name and image from 1 May 2023. The new brand identity is characterised by fresh colours, while the logotype has been given a modern, rounded design. MBH Bank continues to operate with this clean, modern visual identity.
