
Information on voice phishing
Fraudsters pretending to be bank employees are trying
to obtain credit card and internet banking details of customers from phone
numbers similar to real bank customer service numbers. Scammers who are making
the voice phishing calls might give the impression that the customers are
talking to a bank employee, asking their victims to download malicious phone
applications and internet programs for a variety of reasons.
We hereby confirm that the telephone customer services of the Hungarian banks do not switch calls between each other, the banks will not ask their costumers to provide their credit card details, internet banking passwords in any case and through any channels (neither via e-mail, text message nor phone calls), and will never, under any circumstances, ask their costumers to install remote access programs.
